Achilles Tendinopathy
Evidence-informed management for chronic Achilles tendon degeneration and heel pain, utilizing mechanical loading protocols and soft tissue remodeling to restore tendon tensile strength.
Phase 1: Initiate the Healing Cascade
Because degenerative tendons lack sufficient vascularity, we apply targeted Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) directly over the dense, disorganized scar tissue. This introduces controlled micro-friction to break up adhesions, stimulate local fibroblasts, and trigger an active localized healing response.
Phase 2: Eliminate Kinetic Chain Restrictions
Hypertonic calf muscles and a restricted ankle complex place excessive eccentric strain on the tendon. We use precise Myofascial Release & Soft Tissue Therapy (ART) on the soleus and gastrocnemius muscles, paired with targeted Chiropractic Adjustments to the talocrural (ankle) joint, to instantly restore normal length-tension relationships.
Phase 3: Decompress Overloaded Tissues
To allow pain-free movement during daily activities, we utilize strategic Kinesiology Taping. This application microscopically lifts the dermal layers to improve local lymphatic drainage, reduce mechanical pressure on hypersensitive pain receptors, and support the healing tendon structure.
Phase 4: Heavy Slow Resistance Loading
True tendon remodeling requires structured mechanical strain. We design a Custom Exercise Therapy & Rehab program built around Heavy Slow Resistance (HSR) frameworks to physically force chaotic collagen fibers to realign, systematically rebuilding the tendon's load-bearing capacity.
