Chronic Ankle Sprains and Instability

Comprehensive rehabilitation for recurrent ankle sprains and ligamentous laxity, restoring structural joint tracking, tissue resilience, and dynamic balance.

Phase 1: Mobilize Locked Ankle Mortise Segment

Past sprains cause the talus bone to shift forward and lock up, restricting upward movement. We utilize targeted Chiropractic Adjustments to the talocrural and subtalar joints to instantly clear this mechanical block, restoring a normal fluid range of motion.

Phase 2: Clear Compensatory Muscle Guarding

To protect a weak joint, the surrounding lower leg muscles go into chronic spasm, overloading the tendons. We apply precise Myofascial Release and Soft Tissue Therapy (ART) along the peroneals, tibialis anterior, and calf muscles to restore healthy length-tension relationships.

Phase 3: Ligamentous Scar Tissue Remodeling

Poorly healed ligament tears leave behind weak, unorganized scar tissue. We employ Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) over the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) to break down these restrictions, paired with functional Kinesiology Taping to provide continuous sensory stability.

Phase 4: Proprioceptive and Peroneal Retraining

True ankle safety requires lightning-fast neural reflexes. We design a Custom Exercise Therapy and Rehab program focused on multi-planar balance training, reactive proprioceptive drills, and eccentric peroneal loading to protect your ankles on uneven trails.
